Core Compliance Areas

Clery Act
The university is committed to providing a safe and secure working and learning environment, consistent with obligations under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). The Clery Act requires colleges and universities participating in federal financial aid programs to comply with numerous and varied requirements achieved through enterprise-wide coordination.

Institutional Equity
The university prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy), religion, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and genetic information. The Office of Institutional Equity is responsible for reviewing and, where appropriate, objectively investigating complaints of discrimination and harassment.

Youth Protection
The university provides opportunities for youth to engage in educational and recreational programs and activities, and to engage with faculty, staff, and students. The university is committed to promoting the safety and well-being of youth; the Office of Youth Protection supports the campus community by providing safeguards for the protection and supervision of non-enrolled minors participating in university programs and activities.

Compliance Partners
Compliance partners are foundational to the ethical and effective functioning of the university. Compliance partners are highly skilled, trained, and experienced subject-matter experts available to assist leaders, supervisors, and community members in understanding policies and requirements that apply to departments, units, and individuals.
Compliance Advisory Committee
University Compliance utilizes the expertise of colleagues appointed to the Compliance Advisory Committee. The committee provides advice on the effectiveness of the university's ethics and compliance program and the commitment to carry out educational, research, outreach, and healthcare activities in adherence with laws and regulations, ABOR policies and standards, University policies and procedures, and the highest standards of ethical conduct.
